Comment on Which Leg Should You Lead With On The Return Of Serve In Doubles? by badmintoninsight https://badminton-insight.com/which-leg-should-you-lead-on-return-of-serve/#comment-572 Fri, 05 Feb 2021 21:52:12 +0000 https://badm-insight.local/?p=1800#comment-572 In reply to ronny buni.

First of all thank you for the comment and for subscribing to our channel 🙂 What we mean by this is that when leading with your racket leg you are committing more to the shot! It is natural that your recovery is slightly slower when doing this! As we mentioned and as you said there is no right or wrong way, it just may depend on your type of return and what you expect to unfold afterwards! This isn’t always the case though and is largely down to personal preference 🙂 Thanks again for the comment!

Comment on Which Leg Should You Lead With On The Return Of Serve In Doubles? by ronny buni https://badminton-insight.com/which-leg-should-you-lead-on-return-of-serve/#comment-562 Tue, 02 Feb 2021 17:35:18 +0000 https://badm-insight.local/?p=1800#comment-562 i’m a subscriber to your excellent youtube channel. i dont quite agree with the analysis here. leading with one leg isnt more aggressive than the other, as an explosive, deep lunge with the non-racket leg is just as fast to the shuttle as bringing the racket leg through, and both methods can result in quick recovery. i have trained doing it both ways under different coaches in china and find it to be merely a personal preference. i tend to lunge with the non-racket leg because that way i get a better sense of control and stillness in the torso when attacking at the tape. but i can see other players may experience it differently. lots of things in badminton are governed by core principles and others are matters of personal style. the best coaches i’ve had know the difference, and the worst always tell you to do things their way

please keep up the great content on your youtube channel
